Our First Thanksgiving Day Dinner celebration held on Thanksgiving Day
was a HUGE success! Veterans, Seniors and individuals who were without family this past Thanksgiving Day were invited for a FREE delicious Thanksgiving Dinner at the Athenia Veteran’s Post in Clifton, NJ.
The Athenia Veteran’s Post dining room was decorated with fall décor and filled with holiday cheer. Dinner was prepared by volunteer chefs and kitchen helpers.
“It was such an amazing experience!”, said a volunteer.
Special thanks to Shook Funeral Home in Clifton, and members and friends of the Athenia Veterans Post for their partnership in making this dinner possible. Because of the generous support received we were able to serve a delicious homemade Thanksgiving Dinner to over 200 guests from the Clifton community. Over 50 delicious meals were delivered to local shut ins by cheerful and friendly volunteers.
After returning from making deliveries, a volunteer responded and said, “It was awesome to see people feel loved by our small but meaningful gesture”.
Some volunteers also agreed that this will be their new tradition on Thanksgiving Day!
