Hunger Doesn’t Stop / 11 Days of Advent
Everyone at Power of One and our families would like to thank the Saint Philip Church Multi Level Girl Scout Troop 97032 for supporting this year’s winter break food drive that supports food insecure families. Because of their generosity and support, 30 families will receive a beautifully decorated food package just in time for Winter School Break.
Katie Zinsmeister, the Multi-Level Troop leader organized this year’s Hunger Doesn’t Stop Winter Break food drive. Katie created an Advent Calendar for her Multi Level Girl Scout troop listing items needed for each day. She continued to encourage girl scouts from Daisies to Junior Brownies through the calendar that included an assignment for each day of Advent. The nonperishable food items collected each day were added to a decorated box made by each child and included a hand made Christmas greeting to a family.
A participating family dropping off their decorated and filled box thanked Kim Castellano the Director of Power of One by saying, “This meant a lot to our family, thank you for giving us the opportunity to help a local family in need this Christmas”.

The School Pantry is a ministry of Power of One Outreach Ministries, providing underprivileged children with basic needs during his/her school year. We work closely with principals and teachers of our schools and have become a bridge between the teacher and student by providing the student the supplies they need to succeed during the year.
